Information on your device

Uptime Owl stores monitor names, server addresses, check settings, check results, incident history, and pending alert work on your device. It also stores your device label and app preferences. The app does not require a Uptime Owl account.

If you connect Telegram, the app stores your bot token and destination chat ID. The bot token is encrypted using Android Keystore. Krafted.app does not operate a Uptime Owl server that receives your monitor configuration or Telegram credentials.

Network requests and Telegram

Uptime Owl connects to the servers you configure to perform HTTP, HTTPS, or TCP checks. Those servers can receive your network address and information in your configured request, including any credentials included in a URL.

If you enable Telegram alerts, the app sends requests to Telegram's Bot API using your bot token and chat ID. Alert messages contain monitoring information, such as your device label, monitor name, outage and recovery details, and the network path used for delivery. During pairing, the app reads bot updates to identify your one-time pairing command. Telegram handles these requests and messages under its privacy policy.

HTTP and unencrypted TCP connections do not provide transport encryption. Use HTTPS for HTTP monitors when your server supports it. Telegram API requests use HTTPS.

Export and Android backup

Export creates monitor configuration that you can share through another app. Choose the recipient carefully because monitor addresses can contain private information. The destination app handles the information under its own policy.

Android backup and device transfer can include the app's database. The settings file containing Telegram credentials is excluded from both. The backup provider handles backed-up data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

Monitor settings remain until you delete them or clear the app's storage. The app prunes old check records and completed alert work using a 30-day cutoff when checks run. This does not promise automatic deletion of every kind of history after 30 days.

Disconnect Telegram in Settings to remove the active Telegram connection. Clear Uptime Owl's app storage in Android Settings to remove its local data. Remove exported files and backups separately if you no longer want them. Messages already sent to Telegram are managed in Telegram.

Advertising, analytics, and purchases

The current version does not include advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or purchase SDKs. We will update this policy before distributing a version that uses those services.
